" The Shepherdstown Register " and Jefferson County Advertiser.

Shepherdstown, Jefferson County, WV.

Sat. June 2, 1877 - Editorial Brevities
In Hagerstown on Friday, the 11th inst., by Rev. C. A. Coon, Mr. Henry Turner and Miss Sarah Malot, all of Washington county. Turner was in jail for Bastardy, and married the girl to get his freedom. As soon as the knot was tied the happy groom said "good bye," and rushed out of the jail, leaving the blushing bride, standing there perfectly dumb-founded.
