James Turner - Springfield, MO 1857-?

I am just starting to research my genealogy. Part of the family has been relatively easy, but my father's Turner line has been extremely difficult. Anyway, I am looking for information on the ancestors of James Turner. He was reportedly born in Missouri in about 1857. His family was supposedly from the south, but I do not know their names. He married Nancy Jane "Jennie" Wooldridge abt. 1879 and they had three children (Ollie, Bertha, and Elmer (my great grandfather). James and Jennie were reportedly divorced in Springfield in 1891. I would like to find information on James' ancestors. Thank you!!
