Looking for Brittons to Participate in Y-DNA Project
Posted by: Elizabeth Britton (ID *****0291) Date: June 29, 2008 at 11:47:50
  of 50345

All variants of the name included: Brittain, Bretton, Britten, etc.

Participants must be males (because only males have Y-chromosomes) and their surname must be Britton. The Y-chromosome is passed from father to son and follows the male line/surname.

Y-DNA testing makes it possible to trace the male line back hundreds of years, even in the absence of records.

The Britton DNA Projects are hosted by Ancestry:

DNA Heritage:

and Family Tree:

DNA tests may be ordered at any of these websites.
