Thanks Tania. I did already have some of this as my father grew up at that address. Judging by the other info I guess he and my grandmother Emma Doidge were not married yet when they traveled to Montreal.I do have a copy of her baptism papers with her year of birth as 1878 which would make them the same age. Why he would have lied on the papers is anybody's guess but he must have as otherwise 21 would have been a little young to have grown up in England, traveled to and lived in Africa and then moved to Montreal.(This according to what my father always told us.)
