Hello: I am researching my English family - my grandfather came to America in about 1910 when he was in his twenties. Some of these questions may seem quite dumb, but I wanted clarification because things may be different in England from America. 1. If I am able to locate names of living relatives, would someone be able to look up their addresses and phone numbers via an English phone book? I would of course pay you for this. The counties would most likely be Durham, Tyne and Wear and possibly Cumberland. 2. Do English phone books give the first name of the person, along with the surname? The reason I ask is when I find an English address/phone directory on the Internet, it only gives the initial of the first name, along with the surname. If the surname is very common, this makes it quite difficult to locate the correct person. 3. Do modern-day (post 1990) obituaries give the name of the deceased person's family members? 4. I am trying to locate three obituaries of family members who died in Durham - Sunderland, Tyne and Wear - Newcastle, and Cumberland - Cockermouth. I have tried to locate newspapers in these areas via the Internet, but I am lost because I am not familiar with the newspapers. Would it be very difficult to locate the newspapers in these areas and once located, would it be possible to obtain the obituary? Thank you for all of your help. I appreciate your help and your advice. And I will naturally pay for these services, assuming anyone is able to help me. Lisa Notify Administrator about this message?
