Charles, I gather you still live in the Cumberland area. When I first got my computer,I found that there were at least five ladies who had gone into the Umstot,Umstott, Umstatt line, thoroughly.Mrs.Elizabeth Perriman has written an excellent book, with copies of wills, deeds, etc. My father was born in Cumberland, his father was Solomon Gipson born in Pinto or Alaska, WV. The Umstotts have never found Peter or Rachels origins.
My mother told me that the Umstots had yearly family reunions , c. 1923. Do they still have reunions? Please get in touch. Neal
