Have found more information on Burrell Drummond and family.

Burrell b. 1750 Worcester Co, MA, is the son of Stephen Drummond b. abt 1724 Accomack Co, VA, and Elizabeth --. Burrell and five sisters are listed in Stephen's will of Sep 1773 in Worcester Co. Sisters are Estir (Esther), Peggy (Margaret?), Rose, Nanne (Anne?) and Elizabeth. The sisters received their father's estate upon the death of their mother. Burrell had no bequest; presumably he received land or money at the time of his marriage.

Burrell married Naomi --; she is listed as his wife and executrix in his will of 1791 in Worcester Co, MD. I can't find a record of their marriage and have no surname for Naomi.

Seeking the origin of the name "Burrell" -- it is most probably a family name (see the naming patterns of the families of Accomack to understand this!). There were Burrells in early Northampton/Accomack, including: William Burrell and wife, Elizabeth, arriving 1644 9listed as to receive a grant of a Virginia plantation from King James in 1612; James Burrel b. abt 1666, indentured 1682 in Accomack, Robert Burrell, wife and three children, settled in VA in 1663, and Peter Burrell of Prince George Co, MD, b. abt 1710.

Can anyone help?

Eleanor
