I looked at the book that you mentioned. The Joel Wise that you refer to is actually a grandson of David and Agnes. My Joel W. is a son of David and Agnes and is an uncle of the one mentioned in the book.

Mine died in the later 1800's when he was in his 40's. The family Bible belonging to him and wife, Adelaide Louisa Richardson, is in my wife's mother's possession and gives the vital statistics for Joel, wife and their children.

The Bible says that they were married at "Spring Grove" which was the Richardson farm, probably closer to Pamplin and that they died at "Oak Grove" which would have been the farm that Joel inherited from his father. It's bound to be located in the Rocks Church-Swanney Creek area not too far from Bill Dickerson's place.
