You posted long ago and you may know this now, but what I have is Abingdon Parish (Gloucester Co.) Vol. I (Lee) and Vol II (Robbins), record of births as follows: Richard, baptized 24 Feb. 1683, son of John and Joan Fulcher; Thomas, baptized 11 Apr. 1686, son of John and Joan Fulcher, Vol. I, but named Falcher in Vol. II. William, baptized 19 Apr. 1713, son of Tho. Fulsher; I find no mention of Prince Edward Co. in our family history, but The Thomas and John you mention are mentioned in Lynhaven in Lower Norfolk. Other births in Abingdon in Gloucester as above include: Joseph, son of Joseph and Martha Fulsher, baptized 22 Sep. 1689, Vol. I, and Vol. II does not list name; John, son of John and Elizabeth, 26 Sep. 1703, Vols I & II. Richard, son of John, baptized 19 May 1706, Vols. I & II. William, son of RIchard, 01 Mar. 1712, Vols. I & II.; I have encountered a William Fulcher, son of Joseph Fulcher, locations Orange Co. and Caroline Co. in latter 1700s, source Quaker Order Books. My uncle did extensive research on Captain Thomas Fulcher (b. 1643), of Lower Norfolk Co., VA. Son John (b. 1666) was said to have a son named Fulcher, but our family genealogist (E. Kennon) could not find a name, but John and Ruth (Woodhouse?) were divorced around 1691 and she returned to England, presumably with Captain Thomas. Some guesses are that John and Ruth were divorced because son Fulcher was not son of John. Everything I have seen is inconclusive. Another guess of our family genealogist was that Fulchers moved from Gloucester to Caroline Co, making distinguishing the three Williams even more difficult. I have come to not trust LDS so much, due to some errors, but what our family book has that seems most likely to me is that we come from John Fulcher who was transported by Peter Knight in 1652, to land surveyed by Richard LEE, and he surveyed land in King William around 1720, and Joseph Fulcher received land patent 1722. We find Joseph Fulcher, d. 1735 in Caroline CO., who we believe was father of John Fulcher who married Susannah George, but again, no concrete proof, but sources for John and Joseph are Quaker minutes from Caroline Co., which also mentioned William as son of Joseph. Best guess is that our family came from John and Susannah, but all that is "proven" is RIchard, b. 1756, Caroline CO. Some of the info I have seen online had not been found in 1973 when E. Kennon last published her newsletters (like Woodhouse name). Other family legends are that our Fulchers owned land next to Washingtons, could be land on Ware river, formerly in Gloucester, and that earliest ancestor was in Jamestowne, but no record of Fulcher there exists, other than Richard at battle of Jamestown in latter 1700s. Samuel Fulcher in Texas says he has seen plaque of Richard Fulcher in Jamestowne. I have seen mention of James Fulcher plaque. Jamestowne.org definition of Jamestowne is loosely defined, as they seem to be willinbg to grant anyone admission who can prove lineage to John FUlcher of James Island, which is probably John, d. 1712, but of course, no one can. My uncle died in 1997, and I don't know if he researched anything after 1973. I have also read it was not unheard of that people would come over twice after returning, so it does not seem incongruous that Thomas and John (father/son) received multiple land patents for being transported or transporting others more than once, and it was not unheard of that people had more than one spouse, as Captain Thomas was suspected of having. This gets so crazy that I suppose it is even possible that Thomas was father of child attributed to John and Ruth. Infrequently I have seen the names of Thomas and RIchard in the early 1700s in Virginia, Thomas in Caroline and RIchard in Lower Norfolk. The famous John died in 1712, and gave nothing to son Fulcher, but instead to Lewis Conner, and it was not unheard of that that estates and and were stolen back then either.
