We are looking for information about William Witt and his wife Ruth Bishop Witt, their children, grandchildren, etc.
A marriage bond was issued for Ruth Bishop and William Witt on 9 Nov. 1805 in Fauquier Co., VA. The bondsman was John Bishop, presumably her father. Ruth Bishop’s parents were John Bishop II (1739-1828) and Mary Ann Claypool (1748-1795) and they lived on Goose Creek near the Fauquier-Loudoun line.
Dr. Samuel Bishop in his book, Bishop and Lake Families published in 1898, says only this about Ruth Bishop: “Ruth Bishop, daughter of John Bishop II, and thirteenth child, was married to William Ritt.”
We can find no trace of William and Ruth Witt after their marriage.
We would appreciate any information that you can provide about William and Ruth Witt, their children, grandchildren, etc.
