Thanks again-- this is exactly the proof I was looking for.
A Loudoun County death record book shows that Samuel Luckett & Sarah Clapham's son was William C. Luckett 1805-1872 (he married Matilda Jacobs, then Mary Virts.)
Samuel Luckett's other children (Samuel C., Sarah C., Josias C., Luther C., Roger C.) were children of his second wife Rebecca Clapham.
In the 1880 census in MacOupin Co, IL, Sarah Clapham Luckett Hamilton states her mother's (Rebecca's) birthplace was England. That is intersting in light of one of these records indicating the children of Samuel Clapham were still in England.
