Thanks so much, Pat. I also found a new record giving the birth date of James Hamilton Bennett as 1797, and naming his children with Mary Amelia Hooff. This, plus your information leads me to believe James H. Bennett is the son of Charles Bennett Jr., who died 26 Dec 1822.

Now my attention turns to proving John H. Bennett, who marrried Hannah Ann Frank in Loudoun Co in 1837, is also a son of Charles Bennett Jr.

John & Hannah Bennett had at least 7 children and lived in St. Louis, MO by 1840. One record you posted from April 1829 mentions him in a transaction with Jas. Hamilton & Charles B. Hamilton, using interest in real estate of Charles Bennett, decd. of Loudoun.
