Please change the first name of the James HUNTERs of my previous message to THOMAS HUNTER (including the Jr. and Sr. references). At age 83, I should NEVER try to trust my memory on things like this.....but I did and look where it got me!!!!! This was in my DICKERSON records that the FH Library in Utah filmed in the 1980s before I took the originals to the Washington, PA Library. The FHL gave me a copy of the film that they made of the records and I checked it on my microfilm reader at home and found my error(s). Pat, you are correct about the Thomas HUNTER of King George Co., VA. He was the one I meant was in Loudoun Co., VA at one time. I have the deed record in Prince Georges Co., MD whereby that Thomas HUNTER who lost his land in the latter county to Gilbert SPRIGG in 1763 in a case recorded in the Maryland Provincial Court Book DD#4, Vol. 48, pgs. 61-63 and he deeded it to Enoch Magruder of Prince Georges Co., MD in 1764. (Prince Georges Co., MD. Liber TT, pgs. 253-255) dated 2 Feb 1764. In this deed, Thomas HUNTER states that was "late of Loudon (spelled like that) County in the Colony of Virginia, planter but now of Prince Georges Co., Maryland". Pat, you are correct in that Thomas was the THOMAS HUNTER who was in King George Co., VA. I've tried in vain to find out where the descendants of this Thomas HUNTER migrated. Do you know? The reason why I was interested in your James HUNTER..... It is interesting to me that there was a James HUNTER and wife (would have to look up her name) in the same area in the part of southwestern PA (later became Fayette Co.) where our DICKERSONs and VIRGINs also settled about 1769. Coulf this James HUNTER the same one you wrote about who also had dealings in Loudoun Co., VA? It is also interesting that there were two VIRGIN orphans in the Loudoun Co., VA records in the late 1700's that I cannot place in our VIRGIN line....but whom I feel strongly belong to our line and that they "may have" been orphans bound out to a HUNTER relative....BUT I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO PROVE OR DISPROVE THIS THEORY.
