By default I have become the family historian. Due to poor health I am trying to complete as much background data as I can.
My maternal grandfather's name was James William Henry Winfrey.I was told he was born in Crewe, Virginia.
His mother's first name was Mary. She had a total of (appx) 14 children. Five were by her first husband (First name unknown) Winfrey. She then remarried (First name unknown) Ligon, by whom she had the remaining nine children. I only have then names of Roger and Katie. My mother remembered them. My mother was born in 1923 and was the 10h of 11 children born.
