Thank you so very much Ms. Reed!!!
I am presently in tears! I believe this may be them.

My mother passed away in 2002 so I can't ask her. I have only a few 1st cousins on that side older than I am. Most can't recall much. But, My mom was born in 1923. She was the 10th or 11 children born (I was told 3 were still born making it 14.
Her eldest sister was nearly 20 years older. The youngest 8 years younger. So calculating 1st child born round 1903 My grandfather would have been born somewhere between 1885? So his parents and step dad should have been born around 1870?

My mom said that my grandfather remained close with all of his siblings. She specifically remembered two way visits to her Aunt Katie and Uncle Roger.

I tried for 20 years to get my mom to write the family history down. She didn't. Now I feel I MUST record it all so that AlL of our future and present generations know the folk that ultimately created them. And Yes I am Black.
I'm having the hardest time on her mother's side where I keep hitting virtual brick wall's.

James William Henry Winfrey married Auguste Charlotte Irene Lassiter. Her dad Hugh Paige Lassieter (also from ??? Virginia) worked with my grandfather and introduced them.

I have absolutely no information on him, just a few pictures.
His beloved wife was Auguste Charlotte Irene Lassiter was born in NYC (I think Brooklyn / Kings County). Her sisters were named Comfort, Ida and Lena. I remember two of them well from my childhood. Their mother Auguste Marie Loos, I am told came to the USA (by way of Ellis Island) at age 11 with her older sister (who was about 22 - ?)from East Prussia. I was told the town was something that sounds like Ma-gun-a-skum. However I think it may have been Mohnungen which I saw on map of east Prussia.

I had great pleasure hearing stories of those two wonderful marriages and am deeply grateful for your help to me and my family. May God Bless You Always
Valerie C J McGee
