Incident report of 1787 massacre

I am trying to find a first hand/contemporary report of the massacre of a family in July 1787 near Clark's Blockhouse and Grave Creek. That area was at that time was in Virginia, now near Sherrard, West Virginia.

Persons mentioned by historians include Harry Clark and a Rodefer. A person with that sir-name was a John in the 4th Virginia Regiment.

My goal is to identify the family and what happened to the survivor, a boy called Cornelius, and other children as they would have been orphaned. Sir-name Bevens, note that sir-name has a variety of common spellings often used by the same person.

See p 295, "History of the Early Settlement and Indian Wars of Western Virginia" by Willis D. Hass pub 1851, reprinted 1960 is the closest to a contemporary account that I have found.
