Dear Fellow Researchers,
In a posting dated July 4, 2008, on this Forum, Message No. 698, I presented the documentary evidence identifying John Wright (Montgomery County) as the son 1815 (year of death) Joseph Wright of Bedford County, Virginia, (place of death) and grandson of 1763 Thomas Wright of Bedford County, Virginia.
We now have the very good news from Family Tree DNA confirming that identification. The Y-DNA sequence of James Dillon Wright, Kit 126181, matches that of Frank Easly Wright, Kit 42281. Both are Haplogroup I.
Frank Easly Wright is a descendant of 1763 Thomas Wright of Bedford County as follows:
1. 1763 Thomas Wright of Bedford County,
2. 1815 Joseph Wright of Bedford County, Virginia,
3. 1844 Joseph Wright of Hardin County, Kentucky,
4. 1856 Martin G. Wright of Hardin County, Kentucky,
5. Sanford P. Wright,
6. Ernest Wright,
7. Frank Easly Wright, Sr., and
8. Frank Easly Wright, Jr.
James Dillon Wright is a descendant of John Wright (Montgomery County) as follows:
1. John Wright (Montgomery County, Virginia),
2. Smith Wright (Pulaski County, Virginia),
3. 1901 Crockett Anderson Wright of Franklin County, Virginia
4. 1932 Joel Thomas Wright of Franklin County, Virginia,
5. 1995 Frank Dillon Wright of Franklin County, Virginia,
6. James Dillon Wright.
The matching Y-DNA sequences means that both descend from the common ancestor and that common ancestor was 1815 Joseph Wright of Bedford County, Virginia, as set forth above.
