Henry Nelson settled in the area now located in Page County in 1762, coming from Fauquier County with his family. His farm was in the "racing grounds", whatever that means. His wife was Jane Goodwin; they brought William (m. Mary McKay), John (m. Lewttice Shumate, Henry Jr.(m. Anne Kelsay), and Jemima (m. William Tyler)with them. Does anyone have any information on this family? They left for Washington County, NC (later TN) in 1782. The boys were in the local militia in the Revolution, and Henry was a JP and vestryman in the Beckford Church.
