Hi, Paul, Your queries interest me. My ggg-grandmother was Margaret Atwood b. 1803 VA. She married John Acord (Eckert) on 28 July 1822 in Muskingum County, Ohio. In about 1843 they bought land in Jackson twp, Pike County and lived in Jefferson & Huntington twps., Ross County. I have not been able to confirm who Margaret Atwood's parents are, but I believe them to be John & Tabitha (unknown) Atwood. John died in VA and Tabitha came with the children to Muskingum Co, Ohio sometime between 1810-1820. I have much info on Margaret's 10 children & grandchildren, but have trouble following the Atwood line. There was a Betsy Atwood, age 55 in 1860, living with Margaret's daughter, Lydia Acord Landrum, wife of Smith Landrum, in Jefferson, Ross, Ohio. I am assuming Betsy was an aunt to Lydia, and sister or sister-in-law to Margaret. In 1870, Margaret was widowed and living with her daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Acord O'brien, wife of Lewis O'brien, in Twin twp, Ross Co. I would like to share and compare notes with you. It would seem likely that these families are connected in some way. If you agree and would like to compare notes, please e-mail me. I have been to Windy Ridge and there are Atwoods living there still. Notify Administrator about this message?
