I am looking for information on the parents/ancestors of Charles "Charlie" Jefferson Rakes b. ca 1903 in Patrick County, Va.; d. 1984 in Roanoke, Virginia. He had a sister named Ella who also moved to Roanoke and lived in the Garden City area. Charlie owned C.J. Rakes gas station in S.E. Roanoke, a franchise of the Pure Oil Co. He married Lucy Alma Fulk of Pilot Mountain, N.C. in the 1920s. They had four children: Orren, Ernest, Jeanette & Larry, all of Roanoke. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
