hi i
am trying to learn more about my ancestor, simcock cannon. in 1756, he was appointed constable in prince edward co, va.
some of the info, which i cannot confirm, says our simcock cannon was the son of william cannon/ judith woodson with families going back to henrico co, va.
our harris line/ family traces back to captain thomas harris 1611 of jamestown and his son, major william harris of curles, henrico co, va.
in 1765, our simcock cannon of prince edward co, va purchased 50 acres from godfrey jones in charlotte co, va and witnesses were: francis clement; thomas foster; chainey isbell; william holt; william bailey.
my william harris/ wife, frances goode had a suit in 1755 lunenburg co, va with this same godfrey jones.
i would appreciate hearing from others and thanks.
