Hi again. Good news, I found my Vaillants. Alexis was son of Pierre Rene V., who is the son of Pierre V., who is the son of Phillpe V.

Your dit name is a nick name, not to be ignored, but complicates your search. You may need to search under both. My guess is to stick with Dugas.There are Audets and Dugas who moved to Illinois. I will keep my eyes open for your names.
