I am looking for information on Carl Van Winkle who married my grt. Aunt Mary Susan Allen. She used several names, Mary, Susan, and Mae. She was married to Carl in April 1915. An autograph book has a message from Carl to his wife Mary written in 1915 in Detroit, Michigan.
Carl may have been a solider. I cannot locate him in census. A family story goes he died and she never married again. Many thanks for any help you can give. I do not know where Carl was born. Mary was born in Flos Township, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada.
