I haven't found him in 1880, but finally did find him on the 1860 census in Ludlow, Windsor, Vermont. His name was listed as Samoset Perron (no wonder it was difficult to find him) but after hours of searching through all the possibilities of 'similar' names was able to find he and his family. Samoset, (Salmon) 38, Fanny, 40, Dar, 13, Ever (Ella) 11, Alla (Abbie), 7, and Fanny 5. The handwriting on the original census was obviously difficult to read.

I have also found Salmon's ancestry. If you find the 1880 census records I hope you will share them. Thanks.
