Thank you for your response.

Anna Irish Edgerton was a great-granddaugther of my Anna (????) Irish. Anna (maiden name unknown) was the wife of David Irish (1735 - 1800).

You say that "probate books have not been put out for those years." Do you mean for 1808, when Anna is supposed to have died? There is "RUTLAND COUNTY VERMONT PROBATE EXTRACTS, RUTLAND DISTRICT PART 1, VOLUMES 1 - 8, 1781 - 1814" by Margaret R. Jenks. However, I have looked at volumes 1 - 5 of the the actual (filmed) records my self, and Volume 3 ends at 1802, Volume 4 goes form 1803 to 1806, but Volume 5 is only 1811. Perhaps the probate records for 1807 - 1810 do not exist?

The book "Descendants of John Irish the Immigrant" says that Anna (says Ann) died in Danby in 1808 and left a will. However, it also says that her husband, David Irish, died 12 November 1807 in Shelburne, VT and that his will was "probated 4-8-1808." I found probate records for him in Volume 3 which indicate that he died in 1800 in Danby. He did not have a true will, but had an indenture of lease.

So, I do not really trust what "Descendants of John Irish the Immigrant" says about Anna.

Thank you,
Stefan Ramonat
