I am a direct descendant of Richard of Nunmonkton and his father Thomas, but I don't know whether he came from Ireland or not. I know he was married at Burton Leonard in 1732, and had four children there (including Richard), but so far I can find no firm evidence of his origins, though there are quite a lot of records of Waddys baptised and buried at Ripon, including a couple of Thomases.

I am doing some research, and will let you know if anything comes up. I am inclined to think it's more likely that he came from Yorkshire, but it's not impossible that he links up with the Irish family.
