My husband's great great grandfather George W. Walker was married twice. I found him first in the 1860 US census for Sebastian County, Arkansas, alone with three children, all born in Missouri, Martha age 7, John age 5 and Louisa age 1.
But in the 1870 census after he has remarried these same children are listed as Murphy age 15, John age 13 and Louisa
age 11. How can I determine the exact first child. I have found nothing for either a Martha or Murphy Walker after the 1870 census. I do however, have John and Louisa's descendants.
