Stephen: I have been trying to prove that Richard Walker who married Mary Rebecca Storie/Story is the same as Richard W. Walker - however, my Richard C. Walker always signed his name R. C. Walker, and, states his wife's name as Mary R. (this might be Mary Rebecca) however, I can not prove as yet what her last name is. Also, my Richard C. (R. C. Walker) states on census that he was born in Florida, and, his parents born in S. Carolina. The Richard (W) Walker I have been researching was, apparently, born in N. Carolina - Wilkes County. His parents would have been Isaac Walker and Sarah Roberts/Roberds Walker. This Richard Walker was, also, in the Civil War. I believe Isaac's father was George Walker.
I can look up more info that people have sent to me if you want. I am just trying to solve a very difficult puzzle.
I am wondering whether back in the early 1800;s, the state lines may have been different in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina. If I can help you, please e-mail me.
Barbara
