Ayrshire

I was surfing yesterday and discovered two sites that might be of interest to Wallaces whose ancestors trace back to Ayrshire.

The first is Ayrshire History, Index of Ayrshire Roads Trustees 1767 to 1805

www.ayrshirehistory.org.uk/RoadsTrustees/rtindex4.htm

The second is History of the County of Ayr by James Paterson published in 1847. It gives a very good picture of the Wallace family and its branches in Ayrshire. I suspect it has errors. I know that there are people and places that do not agree with Rev. Charles Rogers Book of Wallace published 40 years or so later, but I believe both to be valuable documents into our ancestry/

Hope this helps someone.
