ahgenealogy@gmail.com I am looking to understand the connection of these families: Robert Wallace (1721 - 1793) = 1786 Martha Davis (d/o John Davis & Elizabeth Anderson) Children: (that I have - not sure of order) John (sp. Lydia Smith), Josiah, Isaac (sp. Sarah Graham), Elizabeth, Davis, William, James, Thomas. William Wallace ( - 1793) - will is in Lancaster Co. PA - of Leacock Twp. = Jane Children: (that I have - not sure of order) Robert, James, Hannah (sp. ? Calhoon), Mary (sp. Archibald McLenegan or Lennegan), Margaret, Josiah, William and Thomas. (This William may have been the son of a James Wallace) Josiah Wallace ( - c. 1778)- will is in Chester Co. PA - of W. Cain twp. = Ann Children: (that I have - not sure of order) William, Sarah, Margret, Jean (or Jane - sp. Josiah Wallace son of William and Jane above), Rebecca (sp. William Duffield), Josiah. At death guardian of minor children was Thomas Kittera. Also have: William Wallace (c. 1715 - bet. 1773 - 1791) of Fannett Twp, Franklin Co., PA = Margared Children (from will): James, William (sp. Elizabeth Griffith), Catherine (sp. ? Curran or Cowan) Mary (sp. ? Bary), Johannah (sp, Francis Elliott Jr.), Margaret (sp. ? Hamilton), Elizabeth (sp. Adam Maxwell), David (youngest son by will), Isabelle (sp. James Hill and 2nd a McConnaughy), Anna (youngest daughter - sp. William McCartney/Carty) I suspect the First listed William and Josiah are connected. The wills of the children of Josiah mention a neice Hannah Wallace (sp. James Fitzgerald) but I assume that her parents were already dead as her aunts and uncle made sure she had property which her descendents then returned to the Duffield family (Rebecca Wallace married a William Duffield) however it is understood that the Duffield family estate was originally in the hands of the Wallace family and went to the Duffield family through the marriage of Rebecca Wallace and William Duffield. Any information which will help sort out my Wallace tangle would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying to sort this group out without luck for many years.
