This is an excerpt from a book on the Fagans, which links them/us to the Washingtons. For more information or an electronic copy of the book, email me.

The Washingtons were an Old English Family. Their family home was Sulgrave Manor, in Northhamptonshire. Members of its family played parts in English history after the year 1180. The American branch of the family was established in 1676. Two brothers, John and Lawrence Washington bought lands in Westmoreland Count, Virginia. John was elected to the House of Burgesses and became a Colonel of Malitia. When he died in 1677 he left two sons. One of them, Lawrence, was the grandfather of George Washington.
