A William and Susannah Dillon appear together on a 1768 Cumberland County, Virginia record. Their relationship isn't indicated. William Dillon and his brother, Henry Dillon, moved to Henry County, Virginia. Henry, naming his wife as Mary, died, naming an unmarried daughter, Susannah Dillon. A Susannah Dillon married Thomas Officer the same year her Henry Dillon died. William Dillon left no will, but his estate records states payment was made to Susannah Dillon, relationship not stated. A Susannah Dillon died, naming her sister, Ann Washington, Soloman, and George Washington, among her legatees. Soloman Washington and John Salmon were her executors, Daniel Prillaman gace security for them. Susannah Dillon is paid from William Dillon's estate AFTER Susannah Dillon married Thomas Officer. Therefore, Susannah Dillon, sister of Ann Washington, must be a daughter of William Lawless, or his widow. (That's she's a member of this family is suggested by the fact she leaves a bequest to Joseph Carter Dillon, a son of William Dillon - i.e. her son, or her brother??? If she's William Dillon's widow, her surname isn't known. Therefore, it can't be stated as fact that Bartlett Washington was married to Ann Dillon. Notify Administrator about this message?
