My research on the Payne family from Windsor, Broome, NY includes a Miranda Payne (1800-1896) She married William Wheeler and settled in Sauk County Wisconsin. While searching a family file in the Broome County Historical Library I came upon a letter written by a woman in 1980's outlining the family of William and Miranda. She noted that Miranda's maiden name was Payne. I believe I have some additional information about the Payne's that might be helpful and thought I'd check this board to see if anyone might be connected with this family..
