Hello any Wheeler family members who have knowledge:

I am not accustomed to searching as I got (Boston girl) a LOT of history living as I did in Bunker Hill area and in Boston, rather NOT interested in the "old" but as life progresses and I am now older, I do appreciate what I callously dismissed. My family NO Irish descent McLaughlin and Ballem or Ballam on mat'l grandmother's side AND my very English father's side: Marion Wheeler of NYC early 1920's through, I imaginie the rest of his life, was perhaps a stockbroker, divorcing my young Irish grandmother after producing Annabel Wheeler my mother and my Uncle George Edward Wheeler; he started a new life in NYC and rarely did my mother hear from him...Mother did a lof of research on the Nichol and Wheeler Southern roots (Virginia and further south), my Aunt Ethel Nichol Ketner of KC, KS was Marion Wheeler's Aunt with whom he lived until he was old enough to leave, apparently they are direct descendants through the family to Gen Joe "fighting Joe" Wheeler as I have heard throughout our family discussions of lineage. I believe there are members of this family who have held on to or who have a home or memorial to Gen Joe in the deep south, I have never heard my mother or anyone mention visiting but I would be interested as a Wheeler family member many generations removed, in hearing from others in this same family "lineage" to learn more. Ethel is long deceased, I am reasonably sure my grandfather Marion is long gone in NY somewhere and my Uncle George Wheeler who was so eager to fight in WWII at 16 had that "fighting" spirit, he remainied in service to his country throughout his life until leaving the service in his 50's or 60's after his last duty in Vietnam. I appreciate any info on who is now alive who has more information and ideas? thanks so much, Pamela
