Rhoby and Beverly,
I am searching for proof for vitals on Naomi Winsor Whipple Allen for DAR and RI Historical Assn. Please contact me at RAM548@aol.com to share what you have on her. I have her b. ca. 1772 in Glocester, Providence, RI to Abraham and Rhoby (Keech) Winsor.
Naomi is named in her husband's (Benajah Whipple) probate in 27 FEb 1813. She is named as Naomi Allen in her father-in-law's will 17 NOV 1815 along with her children, among them Rhoby Whipple (b. 26 NOV 1794 Otsego, Otsego, NY), named as grandchildren. Rhoby Whipple and husband, Asher Canfield are both bur. in Potters Cem., Springville, Erie, NY.
Naomi m. 2. Benjamin Allen between 1813 and 1815 in Otsego, Otsego, NY but I have not found marriage proof. I have him on 1810-1840 Otsego, NY census records.The 1840 census lists him age 76 yrs and there being a Rev. War soldier in household. A Benjamin Allen served with Naomi's father-in-law, Benajah Whipple, Sr. in the Rev. War, Capt. Archibald Crary's Regiment from RI. I wonder if this is the fellow she married second.
