Hi Beverly, I have the Huckin's book on Groesbecks and I remember talking with them a few years back. The information on Garret E. son of Garret J. came from a researcher that has also passed on. He didn't have any proof but thought he fit there. The birthday of Garret E. is to close to one of the other children and all of Garret J. and McCombs children have baptismal records -- but not Garret E. I feel like there has to be some little record left by this man that lived in Albany for about 37 years. A Gerrit and wife Helena sold land in Watervliet in 1798; I would like to know something about him. If I could just sit in the NY State Archives for a couple of days I would feel better.

I found Joseph H. whipple in the 1870 Census, Williamstown, MA. He was born in VT abt. 1840 and Sarah Groesbeck b. in NY. No children. There is an Ed Groesbeck living with them, 20 yrs old. I don't know him either.
Did you have any VT Whipples in your family?
