Thank you that helps quite a bit. A family member had Caroline Whipple as being the 1st wife and after catching up with one of our family historians documents I found her to be the 3rd wife. The 1st wife was his love of his life - as indicated with a poem in the historian's notes, Lydia French Manley who died at 31 y from Consumption (TB), his 2nd wife was her sister, Ellen Louise Manley Dudley (my g-g-grandmother). It looks as if her death was recorded from what I have as March 17, 1879 so I'm confused by the timeline. Ellen could have died in 1870 and not 1879 and it is the way it is read on paper. I need to get her death record. Her last child was born March 31, 1865. My gr. grandfather was a child to Dr. Albion and Ellen Louise. He is listed as "Alvin" in his death record...I am guessing that he couldn't be understood when he was dying and was heard as "Alvin" which I am trying to get corrected. You are the first to give me something so I can check out the date issue. Caroline is only mentioned in passing anywhere and she is not burried in the lot where the other wives are. Dr. Albion died of cancer in 1882. I know there are Whipples from Kittery, ME and Portsmouth, NH but didn't find a Caroline. Where did you get your informaiton? Thank you again!
