Patricia: here we go again...one of my grandfather's sisters married Dan or Daniel Wilbanks around 1901..they are buried at the Stateline Cemetery above Hazel Green, Al..his wife's name was Della Edwards...however, she had about 12 names..Della Estella Isabella Cornblossom..listed on one of the census records.. she was about the 5th or 6th child of John Henry and Adaline Sims Edwards..who married in 1876..(they had 16) all born at the head of Hurricane Creek in Madison County, Al..anyway the story goes that Aunt Della and her sister Alice(married Reuben Simpson) found some gold in one of the caves on Putnam Mountain and went to Texas/OK for about a year.. early 1900-1910..when they came back..they were "rich" ..Alice and her husband Reuben purchased a farm at the blue water spring in Limestone County..buried near there.. One of Della and Dan Wilbanks' sons lived at Gurley..Grady Wilbanks..who died a couple of years ago..buried at Gurley City Cemetery.. Aunt Alice Simpson lived to be about 104 years old and was quite a character..I remember her from the 1960's..she always had stories to tell...especially about her Cherokee heritage..another one of their sisters-Sarah Caldonia married John Sharp early 1900's..
