I believe that Viney's father was Wiley Wilbanks (who m. Mahala) and lived near the Alabama/Tennessee state line in Lincoln Co., TN and Madison Co., AL. Go to Rootsweb to the Wilbanks-L mailing list and search the archives under Wiley Wilbanks or Lincoln Co., TN. You should come up with some helpful hits. Note that there is another Wiley Wilbanks who had a brother named Hardy and ended up in Louisiana. That is not the same fellow.
My ancestor, Reuben Wilbanks, b. ca. 1803 SC is believed to be the brother of Wiley Wilbanks.
