I'm wondering if anyone has explored the possibility that Mary CRISP b.1748 [dtr of Wm. M. & Frances WHITLEY CRISP] spouse unk WILKINSON, had a daughter named Dorinthia Unity Wilkinson who married Lanfair WHITEHURST about 1800 in GA. Unity & Lanfair had daughter MaryAnn Crisp Whitehurst in 1818 in GA.
I suspect that the MaryAnn's name might be derived from such a connection. I'd welcome any discussion on this idea,
