Do you know if this John Wilkinson who died in SC in 1828 was any kin to William Wilkinson (c.1793-after 1860, last found on the 1860 Lancaster Co., SC census) and Archibald Wilkinson (c.1800-1832, died Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co. NC). I think (but am not certain) that William and Archibald were brothers, and sons of Samuel Wilkinson & Esther/Easter McBride, who were married in 1783 in Rowan Co., NC. William married twice, first to Lucy Reeves/Rieves in 1814, and second to Drucilla Hampton in 1825, both in Rowan Co. Archibald married Nancy Graham (c.1804/5-after 1880) in Mecklenburg Co. in 1824. William was in Mecklenburg Co., NC in 1850, and Lancaster Co., SC in 1860.

I am searching for information on these folks as I believe William and Lucy were the parents of my 3rd great grandfather, William R. Wilkinson (c.1816-1857/60). William and his two brothers, Daniel (1817-1883) and Henry (c.1820-aft. 1880), were living in Mecklenburg Co., NC in 1840. He married Mary Amanda DeWeese (1824-1851) in 1841, and her younger sister Nancy Adeline DeWeese (1827-1862) in 1852. There were six children born of the first marriage, and three (born "in SC" in circa 1854, '55, and '57, per the 1860 census) of the second. Mary Adeline Wilkinson (1846-1906, Mrs. John Andrew Field) was the fourth child of the first marriage.... and my 2nd great grandmother.

Best Regards,
