I am reasonably sure that the John Wilkison who lived in Beaver Co, PA and then moved to Kane Co, IL in 1845 is the son of William Wilkison and Martha. William Wilkison was a veteran of Revolutionary War. The following is part of a narrative I began recently to try to tie my Wilkisons together

The first record of my Wilkison line in America is the patent issued to William Wilkison for service during the Revolutionary War. The patent is dated 9 May 1794 and is numbered 65 in the First District of donation lands in Beaver County, Pennsylvania and was for 200 acres. In 1800 William is living in Pittsburg Township, Allegheny Co, PA. His birth date was before 1754. In the History of Beaver County Pennsylvania, William is listed as one of the initial resident of Shenango Township when it was sub divided from Big Beaver Township in 1804. In 1805 he is on a tax list for Shenango Township, Beaver County, PA with 2 horses and 3 cows. William wrote a will on 15 Apr 1809 in Shenango Township, Beaver County, PA and it was probated on 31 Aug 1809 in Beaver County, PA. It names his wife, Martha, five sons, John, William, Nathaniel, Robert, Samuel and two daughters, Jean, Mary. According to the 1800 census Martha was born between 1755 and 1764. The only other records of Martha are the 1810 and 1820 census records for Beaver County and the 1815 tax list for Beaver County.
William and Martha Wilkison's oldest son was John Wilkison:
The 20th Century History of New Castle and Lawrence Co, PA has a biographical sketch on a John Wesley Wilkinson which states that John W. Wilkinson was the son of William S. Wilkinson and Mary E. Robison and the grandson of John Wilkinson, who accompanied his father to Shenango Township after being awarded a patent of land for service in the Revolutionary War.

John A. Wilkison was born about 1785 in Pennsylvania. He is first found on the 1815 tax list in Beaver County, PA along with Martha, his widowed mother. He married Rachel Burns who was born in 1783 in Pennsylvania. John and Rachel were in Shenango Township, Beaver County in 1820, 1830 and 1840. John and Rachel sold their land in Beaver County on 11 Oct 1845 and moved to Kane County, Illinois. John died there 22 Jun 1852 or 1854. He is buried in Blackberry Cemetery, Elburn, Kane County, IL. His gravestone indicates he fought in the War of 1812. Rachel died in 1870 in Kane County, IL. John and Rachel had at least eight children:
i. UNKNOWN FEMALE WILKISON, b. between 1810 and 1815.
ii. WILLIAM S. WILKISON, b. 30 Oct 1814 in Shenango Township, Beaver Co, PA, d. 9 Dec 1887 in New Castle, Lawrence County, PA
iii. ROBERT CHARLES WILKISON, b. Abt 1816, New Castle, Beaver Co, PA, d. 1897 Kane Co, IL
iv. BOYD WILKISON, b. Abt 1820, Beaver Co, PA, d. between 1866 and 1870, probably Kane Co, IL
v. UNKNOWN FEMALE WILKISON, b. between 1820 and 1825.

vii. SAMUEL WILKISON, b. 10 Mar 1827, Beaver Co, PA, d. 1903 Topico (Glendale), Los Angeles Co, CA
viii. UNKNOWN MALE WILKISON, b. Abt 1830

I would be happy to share any information of interest to other Wilkinson/Wilkison cousins.
