Williams Family Genealogy Forum

I would just like to share my thoughts on this. I have hunted my Williams family for about 10 years. Last Spring I done a simple 12 marker test. I was so pleased with the results that I upgrade to a 67 marker. Entire family trees came together. I learned more from that test than in 10 years of hunting. You can do a google search for the Williams DNA group or just go to familytreedna.com I'm telling you people, DNA is awsome. If money is tight you can just do a 12 marker, they will keep your DNA for 20 years in a refrigerator and any time in that 20 years you can upgrade it with out a retest. In my case them old brick walls came crumbleing down around me. There was a whole new view out there. I've told you how to contact them. When you do a screen will come up and you order it with a credit card, they will mail it right to your home. It will be 3 little cotton swabs that you rub on the inside of your cheak of your mouth, drop them into 3 little bottles of liquid they send, put them into the envelope they send thats self addressed to them, put the postage amount they tell you to and drop it in the mail. It's simple. on family tree dna home page in the top right corner is a place for a kit number and a password. that you will get when your test is complete. You go there and it will tell you who you have matched, hit the box next to one of them and it will break it down to percentages by generations and let you know about where you conect to different individules you have matched. It will give you there email addresses. When some one new gets a DNA test and they were a match to you, family tree will email you and tell you. It is awsome. You will not regret it. You will always be able to log in and see your matches. If more people just knew about it. You can't hunt a name like Williams with out DNA.
