George Williams, Who was father of Richard Williams of Guilford co. NC. was born in Wales. I have found his imediate descendants saying he was born in Wales. I have seen him as coming from all kinds of places in the last 10 years. I have studied this family, I have seen about sir Richard & sir Frances Williams who in 163? came with 400 slaves, took 4 ships to carry them all. Well, I'm not going to guess if they came or not, but there none of George's relatives. George was born in Wales. I don't know why so many people got to make up so many differnt stories about this good man. There are so many false ones floating around that are blown out of perportion and any knew researcher wants to believe the one that is the most exciting. Levi Coffin jr. named his grandfather Richard Williams and named his Great grandfather George and said he came from Wales. Thats good enough for me.
