I am seeking a descendant of George Wolf b. about 1740 and place unknonw. He was living in Hopkins Co., KY when he sold land and moved to Lawrence Co., MO. The land records in Ky for 1819 indicate he was already in MO when the land was sold in 1819. He is also listed in court records as having some kind of land suit involving a Michael Wolf and a Jacob Wolf. We do NOT know if these three Wolf men were related or not. The Michael Wolf, listed in the court record, was the son of the Jacob Wolf and they also sold their land and moved about the same time frame. These two Wolf men moved to the Izard County AR area between 1810-1818. This Michael Wolf's son, Jacob was appointed Indian Agent and so the grandfather, father and all of his siblings but one moved to AR where he later built what is known today as the Wolf House in Norfork, AR. Our line of Wolf is in the FamilyTreeDNA database. We would just like to know if this George Wolf line was related or not. We have NOT been able to establish the parents of the elder Wolf, Jacob. Neither have we ever been able to establish a wife for this Jacob. In fact, we have only been able to trace his one son Michael. The elder Wolf, Jacob, had been appointed as Constable in Salisbury NC in 1788 and that is our first record of him. He is shown on 1790 census in KY as the only member of his household. In AR he is living with his son Michael for the 1830 census. In history books, he is reported to be 90 years old in 1830, so he was born about 1740. If you think you might be related to the George Wolf as found in KY and then in MO or AR territory after 1818, please contact me so we try to make the connection. dbton@yahoo.com Notify Administrator about this message?
