I'm looking for more information, and descendants & ancestors of John Palmer "Otherwise Worthington" (md. 18 May 1806, North Collingham, Notts, Eng, Rebecah Pattinson). His brother's Death Duty Registery records, “Francis Palmer late of North Collingham, Laborer died 20th Jun 1830. Will dated 3 Mar 1825. Executor, John Palmer otherwise Worthington.” The relationship of John Palmer otherwise Worthington, his executor and legatee is shown as “bro. but q”. John resided at Edingley at this time. What does "otherwise Worthington" mean? What does "bro. but q." mean? Francis was son of Henry Palmer, b. 14 Aug 1743, Swinderby, Lincs, md. Elizabeth Worthington. Henry was son of Francis, b. 7 Nov 1699, Metheringham, Lincs. Francis was son of Francis Palmer, b. 24 Oct/Dec 1647, Metheringham, Lincs. This Francis was son of William Palmer & Isabel, d. 26 Apr 1656, Metheringham, Lincs. Elizabeth Worthington was born 5 Jan 1757, Long Bennington, Lincs, and d. 10 Oct 1837 (age 74) North Collingham, Notts. She was probably daughter of Joseph Worthington d. 21 Nov 1785, Long Bennington, Lincs. and his wife Ruth. I hope to solve this puzzle. Did John Palmer share the same parentage as his brother Francis (bro. but q.)? I have joined the Family Tree DNA surname project for Palmer. http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_det.asp?group=Palmer&projecttype=S. Could similarly interested individuals please contact me, or even better, join this DNA surname project. David Palmer Hong Kong Notify Administrator about this message?
