James Worthington was born about 1787 in Staffordshire according to the 1851 census. The town name appears to be Warslow but no baptism record found on the microfiche of that area (and Elkstone)He married 1815 Sarah Humphrys born 1782 Halkyn, Wales. Children:
John 1816 Halkyn, possibly born premature when Sarah visiting family not that they were living there baptism record found
James bp. 25 Dec 1823 Leek,
William bp. 25 Dec1823 Leek,
Joseph bp 24 Aug 1825, Leek,
Thomas 1830 Cripplegate, London, my ancestor, baptism record found
Richard 1832 Shorditch., baptism record not found.
James and Sarah had returned to Leek by the 1841 Census. James was known to be a Dyer in the Silk Industry..
I would like to know if anybody could suggest where else he may have been born if Warslow is not correct. I would also like suggestions as to why he went to London as a Dyer and then returned, does anybody know if any of the Mills in the Leek area also had Mills in the London area.

Any information on any of these Worthingtons, or others from Leek, most appreciated.

Thanks, Sue
