I have been given the following information on Richard Worthington who I believe may have been my ancestor. I have Rocrad as being born son of James Worthington and Sarah Humphries possibly in the Shorditch area London/Middlesex around 1833. He was brought up in Leek, Staffs and I have him on the 1851 census with his family aged 19.

Richard Worthington born approx. 1831 England went on the ship Empire State from Aspinwall, Panama to New York arriving 16.9.1854.
Richard Worthington born 1832 England is listed on the 1860 USA census. He is a silk operative living in Paterson East Ward, Passaic, New Jersey with Margaret 27 born Scotland. They are living with James Powell 51 England, tailor, his wife, infant daughter and baby daughter.
1870 USA census silk spinner, Patersward 4, Passaic, New Jersey with Margaret 38, keeping house, Sarah J age 4 born New Jersey
1880 USA census silk baller, Patterson, Passaic, New Jersey with Mary? Age 50 born Scotland keeps house and Sarah at school. Richard unemployed for 9 months out of last 12.
No Worthingtons listed on 1890 census for New Jersey. Cannot find Richard, Margaret or Sarah after 1880.

Does anybody have this person in their american history or any information to help me confirm that these two people are the same.
Many Thanks, Sue
