In my research for my dads service record, destroyed in the St Louis fire, I have found a number of alternate records, including five bronze battle service stars, and the award of a silver star to wear on the campaign medal, the time and place of four of five purple hearts and OLC, but am unable to locate records from Fort Benning that would give me a place to look for a roster of when he may have been transfered to the 30th div, what I have is a news paper clipping, has been in the army since March 28th and stationed at Fort Benning Ga in the academic reg, Dated Aug 18th 1942. I am looking to expand my info and to find the unit or units he was with. were would I look. I have other Q but will ask them at a latter time. Dennis
