Hello Peter,

I don't know if I can connect my tree with your somehow. I haven't got back as far as you but I have the same Horton/Yardley connection.

My great great grandmother was Hannah Yardley from Horton, Staffordshire. She was born about 1818. Her parents were William and Sarah Yardley. William was a farmer and was born in 1783 in Horton.

Here's an interesting thing. Hannah married a William Alcock and had a son called John Alcock. John used to write poetry under the pseudonym ... Horton Yardley! I wonder if any of that poetry still exists?
